The cost savings provided by fire service volunteers is tremendous. For many communities, switching to a career staffing model is not feasible.

Shift scheduling

Our Department consists of 6 “shifts" of volunteers that staff the department overnight from 6 P.M. to 6 A.M  7 day a week.  Each shift consists of a Captain. Lieutenant, Driver, and Firefighters.  We also have 4 Full-Time personnel provided through the Town of Walls staffed Monday thru Friday from 7 A.M. to 5  P.M.

No experience? No problem!

We offer free Fire and EMS training.  Every year we send our volunteers down to the Mississippi State Fire Academy in Pearl MS for various classes.

Why should you join?

As many have noticed on news outlets and social media, the Volunteer Firefighter is a dying breed.  We are trying very hard to recruit and retain members that have chosen our community to serve.  We need more help in giving back to our town.  This community, like many others, is in desperate need of more men and women to come and help us help our citizens.  As the county continues to develop we will have more and more buildings and lives to protect and with your help, we can help keep insurance ratings lower and save the business owners and homeowners money on insurance.

What does it mean to be a family?

Take a peek into our station life, our constant training, and our commitment to our community.
