It is the mission of the Walls Fire Protection District to protect all citizens from injury and loss by any direct or indirect threats to life and property. Our department is committed to this mission by providing rapid professional service essential to the health, safety and protection of our community. This mission will be accomplished through leadership, with responsible financial management, strategic planning and customer service for both the employees and citizens in the area of fire prevention, fire suppression, rescue operations and emergency medical First Responders services. We will actively participate with our community, serve as role models and strive to effectively and efficiently utilize all resources available to provide excellent customer service to the citizens of Walls Fire Protection District, De Soto County and its visitors.
Walls Fire Department is a Volunteer fire department that is supplemented by 4 full time personnel provided through the Town of Walls, Monday thru Friday 7 A.M. - 5 P.M. . We operate 2 fire stations with 7 fire trucks, a brush fire truck, and a medical response S.U.V. and a command vehicle. Walls Fire Department has 6 “shifts” that staff the department overnight from 6 P.M. to 6 A.M. with a Captain, Lieutenant, Driver, and Firefighters assigned to each shift. As many have noticed on news outlets and social media, the Volunteer Firefighter is a dying breed. We are trying very hard to recruit and retain members that have chosen our community to serve and we need more help with this. We need volunteers to give back some time. This community, like many other, is in desperate need of more men and women to come and help us help our citizens. As the county continues to develop we will have more and more buildings and lives to protect and with the help of YOU we can help keep insurance ratings lower and save the business owners and homeowners money on insurance. We offer free Fire and EMS training. Every year we send our volunteers down to the Mississippi State Fire Academy in Pearl MS for various classes. There are numerous perks that come with volunteering in your community, Contact us TODAY to find out how to get started in the field that keeps on giving.
Whether you help through monetary donations, volunteering your time, or spreading our mission through word-of-mouth, thank you. We couldn't accomplish our goals without the help of supporters like you.
